#5. Drinking Etiquette.
- In Korea, just about every meal seems to include alcohol, even lunches sometimes!
While there are quite a few practices that you will not be expected to follow, like turning away from the table while taking a drink if older people are present, there are a couple others that are worth mentioning. First, when toasts are being made lift your glass with the right hand only, a sign of additional respect can be made by lifting the glass with the right hand and supporting the elbow with the left. But most importantly one should remember that draining a glass completely is a sign that you would like a refill, and that task will be carried out by the person sitting next to you.
Traditionally, Koreans do not pour their own drinks, so keep an eye on the glass of the person next own drinks, so keep an eye on the glass of the person next to you and kindly refill it when it is nearly empty.
